Only clubs and organizations officially affiliated with the SSMU may use the website design service.

Nope! This service is completely free for SSMU clubs and organizations.

In order to formally submit a website request, please fill out the Website Request form. This form can be found in the “Submit a Request” page or on the SSMU website under the “Club Resources” page.

Note that the Club Website Designer takes requests on a first come first served basis. After submitting a request, your club will be added to the waitlist. Once your club reaches the top of the waitlist, you will receive an email to schedule a website design meeting.

Yes, by using this service, your club’s website will be hosted on the SSMU server and have an SSMU domain (eg. clubname.ssmu.ca). Note that if you have a website hosted elsewhere, you may still obtain an SSMU domain but it can only be used for redirects  (i.e. typing yourclubname.ssmu.ca will open the website you currently have on whatever website service you’re already using).

The website will be hosted on the SSMU server and designed using WordPress. It’s recommended but not mandatory that clubs who intend to use this service familiarize themselves with the platform. After the website is finished, the Club Website Designer will schedule a final meeting to provide an informative walkthrough of the site on WordPress and teach club members how to update and maintain their content.

It all depends on how much material your club has ready. If all website content and materials are ready to go before the website design meeting, it can take as little as 1-2 weeks to complete the project. The less information your club has ready, the longer the design process will take.

The Club Website Designer cannot provide support for complex technical difficulties involving the site database as they do not have sufficient permissions.

For all technical difficulties or problems involving your website, please contact the current System Administrator, John Campbell, at jcampbell@ssmu.ca.
